Two bikes go head to head
Two of the most popular bikes at the moment go head-to-head at the hands of our top
test rider Jiao Robinson: the all new Mountain Boy XY and Mud Kingz's Ramp Queen.

'The new Mountain Boy bike is made of some of the latest materials available. As a result, the bike is a whole 500 grams lighter than
the Ramp Queen. This means that it's just that bit easier to load into the back of a van and get up those steeper hills.

'However, as a long-time Ramp Queen fan, the Mountain Boy XY would need to perform brilliantly to become my new favourite bike -
and it doesn't

'Despite upgrading the frame to a super light-weight carbon, for some reason the makers of Mountain Boy XY decided to leave old
fashioned brakes and gears on the model, meaning that for the extra £50 the bike costs over the Ramp Queen, all you get is a slightly
lighter frame. As someone who loves getting their money's worth, I'm not sure the extra money is worth the amount of weight saved.
