If you already have a mentor, check in with them today and ask for feedback in areas of your life in which you need help. If you don't have a mentor, find someone who knows you well and whose opinion you value, and ask them if there's anything you can do that will help you become a better version of yourself. Write down their feedback. Identify if their feedback focuses on something positive or negative. Does the feedback build you up, or does it try to get you to act or behave like a different person? Write down the steps for how you can incorporate this feedback and how you'll know if you're making progress in this area.

For example: My mom said I need to talk more calmly when I am angry. She says I'm a pretty patient person, but when I do get angry I tend to raise my voice too much. The feedback was that I'm usually positive but can work on this one negative area. I think this feedback builds me up.

The steps I can take to improve myself are to 1) recognize when I'm getting angry, 2) pause before responding, 3) breathe a little more deeply, and 4) think before I speak.

I'll know I've made progress if I'm not yelling as much when I get angry.
