Marla was rummaging through some boxes in the attic and found a stack of letters her great-grandfather wrote when he
was stationed in North Africa during World War II. One of the letters included these lines:
"Last week we almost ran out of fuel. Most of our training was cancelled. This week we received double the usual amounts.
I guess it's feast or famine around here."
Using the context of the letter as a clue, what does the phrase feast or famine mean?
