Perhaps she was holding the ring of a beautiful princess from India, who had been washing her hands in a
river. The tides may have carried it across the Indian Ocean and through the Strait of Malacca. Or perhaps
along with the cool air, this ring traveled from high in the mountains of Japan. Maybe a young Japanese
girl, doing her daily chores, lost her ring in the snow. Then the snow melted down into the ocean far below
and traveled south with the current, all this way to Farizah's toes
