6. In this clip, when Anna compliments Christina’s drawing, Christina replies that “Marrin makes it easy with so many facts.” How does this observation lead the group to explore the text more closely? How does Michael use the prompt to raise questions about Marrin’s use of facts? Christina: Well, Marrin makes it easy with all these facts.
Chris: Yeah, so many! Check it out: “At exactly 4:45 pm someone pulled the eighth-floor fire alarm.”
Michael: Right. Here’s another: “Company 72 arrived from a firehouse six blocks away.”
Ana: Sounds like an article in El Universal. It’s a Mexican newspaper, my dad still gets it.
Michael: You’re right, he does sound like a newspaper reporter, doesn’t he? I wonder if he’s doing it on purpose.
Chris: Well, why would he do that?
Michael: Well, Ms. Leonard always asks us to look at why a writer chooses to do something. So, why is Marrin using all these facts?
Ana: I don’t know. So, do we believe what he’s saying is true?
Christina: Well, isn’t it?
Michael: Well, the prompt asks us to look for creative writing elements, so that must mean that at least some of what Marrin is writing has to come from his head, right?
Chris: I gotta read this again, anybody else?

The ancient greek poet. homer, is credited with writing the odyssey. however, scholars still debate whether homer wrote the entire epic. what is the main reason for this uncertainty? o some sections of the epic are written in different poetic styles and forms. most ancient greeks could not read or write, so the epic was first written in latin ob och storytellers repeated the epic aloud for centuries before it was ever written down. od the epic was a fictional account, so the identity of its author may have been fictionalized as well.
