From The Diary Of Anne Frank why does she keep the diary

Anne keeps the diary as she doesn’t really have a real friend to talk to about things that she needs to get off her chest. Also, she doesn’t think anyone else would be as patient as the diary and she wants it to become her friend and even gives it a name ‘Kitty’. She also introduces herself and her family to Kitty.

Anne Frank was a thirteen-year-old school girl who planned to write about her everyday life in her diary sometimes confiding in it secrets that she longed to share with a real friend. She believes the diary would be patient to listen to her as she doesn’t have anything as important that would interest someone else.
