Becoming A Confident Player 4 One person does not really see Davenport as a top pick. That
person is Davenport himself. He has sometimes struggled with
self-confidence. Confidence is the belief that you can succeed and
the courage to keep trying.
5 "I had to develop more confidence because this game will eat you
up if you don't have it," Davenport told a newspaper. He often
thought too much about things he did wrong. He forgot about what
he did right. So he worked to change his thinking. He tried being
more positive about himself. He practiced being more confident on
the football field.
6 Confidence did not come naturally to Davenport. He
considers himself to be an introvert. Introverts are often
quiet and creative. He writes poetry and watches anime.
Davenport also reads a lot of books. He graduated with
his college degree in 3 1/2 years.

Select the correct answer. lyric poems often deal with intense emotions. which statement best describes the shift in emotion in "lift every voice and sing" as it moves from the first into the second stanza? lift every voice and sing till earth and heaven ring, ring with the harmonies of liberty; let our rejoicing rise high as the listening skies, let it resound loud as the rolling sea. sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us, facing the rising sun of our new day begun let us march on till victory is won. stony the road we trod, bitter the chastening rod, felt in the days when hope unborn had died; yet with a steady beat, have not our weary feet come to the place for which our fathers sighed? we have come over a way that with tears has been watered, we have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered, out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last where the white gleam of our bright star is cast. a. the joyful call of the first stanza gives way to a bitter recounting of history in the second. b. the first stanza's anger is replaced by the second stanza's resignation. c. the poem moves from a sense of wonder in the first stanza toward a sense of perplexity in the second. d. there is no change between the first stanza and the second. the emotions are the same in both.

Plz me asap select the correct text in the passage. which two sentences in the passage introduce counterarguments to the speaker’s position in favor of recycling? we only have a limited number of resources to serve humans around the globe. by recycling and reusing the resources we have, we can preserve what untouched natural resources we have while extending the life of the resources we’re currently using. admittedly, we cannot reuse or recycle all of the materials we use in our daily lives.some materials are not recyclable, such as certain food containers.others items are not biodegradable regardless of what we reuse them for, and that can create problems in the long run. my opponent would use these limitations of our ability to recycle to counter my points about the materials we can recycle.however, this is not an “all or nothing” scenario.we should reuse and recycle the materials that we can and try our best not to buy materials and products that can’t be reused or recycled.by doing our part and encouraging others to do their part, we can increase our chances of conserving our remaining natural and manmade resources over time.
