Tokyo and Florida competed against one another in the Little League World Series. The U. S. team began the game with a strong defense, keeping the Japanese team from a first-inning run. However, Japan's offense proved too
strong for Florida as the game progressed. Tokyo scored eight runs in the fourth inning, including a grand-slam
home run from Hokuto Nakahara. Yuutaro Tanaka also doubled during the fourth inning and scored a two-run
homer. In the field, Tanaka threw a combination of powerful pitches that produced 14 strikeouts in six innings; he
allowed only three hits by the U. S. team.
