Automation Many jobs that we know today will someday
be taken over by robotics. For example, you may
have seen the self-checkout lanes at grocery stores.
These machines do the jobs that people used to do,
making many human cashiers obsolete. Even though
they have some flaws, these machines have benefits as
well. They can work without needing a paycheck, and
they never get tired. Robots may break once in a while, but unlike humans, they never
complain. Some people are worried about losing their jobs, but others are excited about
all of the possibilities new technology might bring.
Use the RACE strategy to answer the following question, using the checklist as you write.
Do you think robots doing jobs people used to do is good or bad? Explain.
