Write a story which includes the words ‘i tried to stay calm’​

I tried to stay calm, because I knew someone had just broken in. I crept up the stairs, holding my breath as the stairs creaked beneath my feet. I head voice, muffled ones. I made it up the stairs, and all thoughts of staying calm were gone when I saw the intruder.
