The only foreshadowing in this story that I could recall was when I read “Oh no. If he tossed the lit dynamite off the bridge, we’d still be blown to bits. Duffy clutched the dynamite to his chest and started across to Buster’s side, the fuse burned, sparking and sputtering behind him, getting shorter with each step he took.”. That was the sentence that I got an idea of what was about to happen, after this paragraph Duffy sacrifices himself to save the others.
