I'm an asian studying English, but I can't understand about this.

is "kiss" a dative verb?

then, in "they kissed the baby goodnight",
what kind of sentence constitute of "goodnight"?
is it a direct object of kiss or an adverb?

if the "goodnight" is a direct object,
what is the passive voice of the sentence?
could it be both of
"the baby was kissed goodnight by them" and
"goodnight was kissed for the baby by them"?

I think the second one is wrong, but I can't explain why.
please help.
