Abstract and Concrete Nouns An abstract noun is a noun that names something that you cannot taste, touch, smell, hear, or see. An abstract noun usually names an idea, feeling, or concept. On the other hand, a concrete noun names something that you can see, hear, taste, smell, or touch. A concrete noun names an object, thing etc.
In each of the following sentences, a noun is in bold. Circle the noun if it is a concrete noun and underline the noun if it is an abstract noun.
