Summary of raven Edgar Allan Poe

The raven follows an unnamed narrator on a dreary night in December who sits reading, Something forgotten by a dying fire as a way to forget the death of his beloved Lenore. A tapping at his chamber door reveals nothing, but excites his soul to "burning".

An unamed person is sitting in his chambers on a dreay December night reading an old book. He misses his love Leonore who passed away recently and to tke his mind off her he reads. He has almost fallen asleep when he hears a sound which belongs to a black raven. He asks the bird what it's name is and answers back "Nevermore". Thinking that the owner of the bird taught the raven to say that word, the narrator remembers that Leonore will never lounge on the couch with him. The bird just responds back with "Nevermore". He asks the raven if he will hold his love Leonore in heaven and the bird responds with "Nevermore". Outraged at what the bird said, he ordered the raven to leave believing that the bird is lying. The raven stays where he is repeating his one word "Nevermore." The narrator finally understands that the bird is casting a shadow over his soul which will always be around him.
