In this activity, you'll select either a fiction or nonfiction text to read independently. Before, during, and after you read,
you'll use comprehension strategies to monitor your understanding and annotate the text to show deeper understanding
of the passage.
Part A
Take a look at the fiction text, "The Storyteller 2," and the nonfiction text, “Was Einstein a Space Alien? " Select one text
to read independently. Once you've selected a text, note the following:
• the title of the text you selected
• the reason, or purpose, you selected the text
• a question you have about the text
