There should be 2 separate letters sent to the Headmaster, the first welcoming him to the school. One sentence should be sufficient.

The second letter may not be necessary, as he is probably aware of the current needs of the school. You should allow several weeks to pass, before you send any “needs” letter. You do NOT wish for the Headmaster to believe you are telling him his job !………….Politeness is always required.

An old axiom, No one will ever be upset, if you tell them how much you appreciate their work. Convey this suggestion to any classmates, who consider writing the Headmaster. Most probably, he was selected for this assignment, because he is proactive and not reactive to the school needs.
