It is difficult to understand their communication in the Looking-Glass world because the creatures that live there use mostly poetry. Secondly, since they use poetry, we can see that in the poem "Jabberwocky" Louis Carroll uses a lot of nonsense words, like "slithe" which is lithe and slimy put into a portmanteau, and other words that are just all confusing and hard to understand. I also think that the poetry shows Alices' confusion and frustration that nobody in her world uses poetry to communicate, like in the Looking-Glass world. Lastly, I had noticed that in Through the Looking-Glass, mostly everything is backward. You can see this in the poem Humpty Dumpty sang to Alice when she was visiting him, "The sun was shining on the sea... it was the middle of the night." Also, when Alice was running with the Red Queen, you can tell that Louis Carroll intended to add it so that Alice had to run backways to get to the other square, and when she got tired enough, she took a seat under a tree, the Red Queen offered her a dry biscuit when all Alice needed was something to cool her off.
