Dr. King, uses a lot of allusions in "Letter to Birmingham Jail." These allusions make reference to biblical and religious figures, political writers and great activists. King does this to allow readers to associate the information presented in his text with information known to the general public, allowing the subject he is promoting in the text to be better understood by the public.
