There is a distinction of every person’s point of view; such as the conflicting sworn statements of two eyewitnesses to a crime. It’s not that there is honesty versus dishonesty, but sometimes the difference in the point of view. POV1:
Elie Wiesel has said there was an absence of God in a place like this…
Quotes from Elie Wiesel’s Point of View:
"Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God Himself. Never."
- Elie Wiesel, Night, Ch. 3
"Where is He? Here He is--He is hanging here on this gallows."
- Elie Wiesel, Night, Ch. 4
Background Information: This could be because the presence of Christ was more abstract for Jews. The Jews did not believe in Jesus Christ who God sent as the Messiah to forgive them of their sins. The belief in Jesus Christ is what it means to be a Christian or a Jew for Jesus.
Example of Jew for Jesus - Paul (also known as Saul) who wrote more than ½ the New Testament in the Bible, he was a Jew who condemned Christians. God spoke to him one day asking, “Paul why do you persecute me so?” meaning his people too. This is when Paul converted to Christianity making him a Jew for Jesus.

POV2:
Another victim of the concentration camp horrors is Corrie ten Boom, the Christian author of the bestselling autobiography The Hiding Place.
Quotes from Corrie ten Boom’s Point of View:
""Happiness isn't' something that depends on our surroundings, Corrie. It's something we make inside ourselves."" — Corrie Ten Boom (The Hiding Place)
""Whenever we cannot love in the old, human way, Corrie, God can give us the perfect way.""
— Corrie Ten Boom (The Hiding Place)
"Dear Jesus...how foolish of me to have called for human help when You are here."
— Corrie Ten Boom (The Hiding Place)

"No pit is so deep that God's love is not deeper still."
— Corrie Ten Boom (The Hiding Place)
What do you think people would say about Corrie from the few quotes we have from her book? What was her personality like? Do you think she handled her incarceration differently than Elie Wiesel?
