Take 5 poem
Line 1: write a noun--a person, place or thing

Line 2: write 2 adjectives---words that describe the noun you used. Separate the 2 adjectives with a comma

Line 3: write 3 verbs--words that show action--that tell what the noun does

Line 4: write a thought or phrase about the noun--a short phrase

Line 5: write a synonym(means the same) for the noun or a related word

Examples:

Amuse, inform, bore pass, run, tackle

Limerick poem

Limericks have 5 lines. Lines 1,2, + 5 will rhyme together. Lines 3 and 4 will rhyme together (but will not rhyme with the other lines). Many, but not all limericks begin with “There once was a …” Each line begins with a capital letter; punctuate as needed.

Examples:

This is a young lady whose nose, There once was this teacher.
Continually prospers and grows, And oh, what a creature!
When it grew out of sight, He was interesting for sure.
She explained in a fright, His intentions so pure.
“Oh farewell to the end of my nose!” He could have been a preacher.
