A ballad is a type of poem that tells a story and was traditionally set to music. English language ballads are typically composed of four lines per stanza that follow the A, B, C, B rhyme scheme.

Requirements: Must tell a COMPLETE story (real or fictional), must be written in four line stanzas that follow the A, B, C, B rhyme scheme (in each stanza), must include at least one enjambment. The enjambment must be in bold.

A minimum of six stanzas should be written. 1 for the Exposition, 2 for the Rising Action, 1 for the Climax, 1 for the Falling Action, 1 for the Resolution. If you want to write more you can.

An example of a ballad is "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" Click on the link to see the example. This poem has an A, A, B, B rhyme scheme, but you must use the A, B, C, B rhyme scheme.

Example:

Larry, a salamander, lived near a city (A)

in a misty, dark, and shadowy bog. (B)

His journey began with some bugs in his hand (C)

as he pondered and sat on a log. (B)

In the real world, feldman learned to settle for less than 95 percent. he came to consider a company “honest” if its payment rate was above 90 percent. he considered a rate between 80 and 90 percent “annoying but tolerable.” if a company habitually paid below 80 percent, feldman might post a hectoring note, like this one: the cost of bagels has gone up dramatically since the beginning of the year. unfortunately, the number of bagels that disappear without being paid for has also gone up. don’t let that continue. i don’t imagine that you would teach your children to cheat, so why do it yourselves? the excerpt serves as which type of support for the authors’ argument? a claim an example a conclusion a counterclaim
