Which describes Jillian's motivation in the passage below? Though her parents loved hearing her play, Jillian wanted to quit taking piano lessons. Not wanting to disappoint her parents, Jillian decided she would tell them about her decision to quit after her birthday. But then her parents gave Jillian a piano as a birthday present! Jillian felt miserable. She didn't have the heart to disappoint her parents, but she didn't enjoy playing the piano at all. Her parents finally noticed how unhappy Jillian was and asked what was wrong. When Jillian finally told the truth, her parents were very understanding and offered to return the piano and get her singing lessons instead, something Jillian knew she would really enjoy.
