Where Are You Wearing 1. Select an item of clothing from your closet or one that you are wearing. Make sure it still has a legible
label. It can be a belt, a pair of shoes, a blouse or shirt, or a piece of jewelry.
2. Research the company who made the item, the material your item is made from, and the store you
bought the item from. Use the following guiding questions to focus your research.
A. What country was the product made in?
B. How was it made and where specifically was it made?
C. What kinds of people does the manufacturer of the item employ, and who was likely to have made
your item? How much were they paid?
D. What material is your item made from and where did the material come from?
E. What are the effects on the environment of using that material?
F. What was the cost of the materials that your item is made from?
G. What was the total price of your item and where did the money you spent go?
H. Who made the most profit on this item and who made the least?
1. What made you want to own this item? What pleasure do you get from it?
J. What alternative item would serve the same purpose? Why did you choose this item over the
alternative?
K. Where did you purchase the product and how did the distributor get it?
L. How many employees does the distributor have and how are they compensated for their labor?
M. How many people contributed to your ability to wear this item?
