What does the author suggest as a way to conserve energy?Switch to LED Lights by Serena Woods

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are the newest and most promising invention in the lighting industry. LEDs have many advantages over more traditional forms of lighting systems.

Conserve energy

LEDs generally consume low amounts of power to produce light. In contrast to other types of bulbs, LEDs are more efficient and therefore require less power to produce the same amount of light. The Center for Efficient Energy Consumption conducted a study which states that "LEDs reduce power consumption by more than 60% when compared to other forms of lighting."
LEDs also have a long service life. Frequently switching them on and off does not affect their performance. People do not need to replace LEDs for many years, unlike traditional light bulbs and tubes.
LEDs are more energy efficient. They have an estimated energy efficiency of 80 to 90%. This means that they use 80-90% of electrical energy, and only around 10-20% is lost and converted to heat energy. In comparison, traditional bulbs have an estimated energy efficiency of only 20%.

Safe energy

LEDs do not contain any harmful materials. They are 100% recyclable, which makes them easier to dispose of responsibly. Many traditional forms of lighting contain materials that can be dangerous. LEDs are a safer option.

Minimal disadvantages

Researchers have found that LEDs can have a negative effect on our health. They suggest that LEDs may cause headaches and affect our sleep. However, the many benefits of LEDs outweigh these concerns.

Make a difference

If more people switch to using LEDs, it will save considerable energy. So, do your bit and start using LEDs.

Read the passage from sugar changed the world. but it is in india, where it was used as an offering in religious and magical ceremonies, that we have the first written record of sugar. long before the first pyramids were built in egypt, the ancient sumerians traded with the people of harappa and mohenjo daro, who lived along the indus river. unfortunately, we are still not able to read the writings left behind from those ancient cities. so the first documents telling us about life in that region come from a much later period. these hindu sacred teachings were probably first gathered together sometime between 1500 and 900 b.c., and were carefully memorized. only hundreds of years later were they finally written down. the hindu writings tell us of a religion in which fire was extremely important. people believed that the gods gave fire to human beings. yet fire was also a way for humans to reach the gods. by placing offerings in a special fire, a priest could turn them into smoke and send them on to the gods. five ingredients were selected for this special burning: milk, cheese, butter, honey, and sugar cane. which details would best fit in a summary of this passage? select two options. "in india . . it was used as an offering in religious and magical ceremonies" "the first written record of sugar" "long before the first pyramids were built in egypt" "gods gave fire to human beings" "a priest could turn them into smoke and send them on to the gods"
