It was Friday night, and Travis couldn’t wait to head out with his friends. Walking home, he and his buddies made plans for that night. They would go to laser tag, eat pizza, and play arcade games until their parents said they had to be home! An hour later, the boys were piling into the mini-van, clutching their hard earned chore money, ready to rock the night! As the boys poked fun at each other at a stop light, Travis noticed a family sitting on the sidewalk, bundled in rags, and huddled together for warmth. Concerned, the boys asked his mom if they could stop and get the family some dinner. They pooled their money together to buy a few meals at McDonald’s. The family was so grateful for the kind gesture. They told the boys about the local soup kitchen being low on volunteers, so there wasn’t enough food to go around anymore. The boys looked at each other and knew what they need to do. “Mom? Can we head to the soup kitchen instead of the arcade tonight? Someone needs our time and money more than we need to play video games tonight.” Without asking another question, mom clutched her chest, turning the van toward their new destination. what is the theme?
