ANOTHER POEM BATTLE, heres my submission: Is it possible for me to fly, or lie about it.
Is it possible for me lo laugh, and not be fake around it.
Is it possible to keep myself, as others lose me.
And yet im still here, ready for the truth to come out.
And you come out of the darkness, for you are the lie.
As I lied about you loving me, for I shalt love you no more.
Or shall I lie again, as I lie about myself loving you.
And lie about to mirror because Im not the reflection
For you reflect me, so lying about who I am.
Or who am I to be.

Sleepless nights

Restless.

Eyes shut, not closed.

Deep breaths, not deep enough.

Pulse increasing, walls closing in.

The hours, they tick by.

Slow, so tortuously slow.

Silence, yet too loud.

Walls whispering, "we shall not give in"

Tossing, turning.

Too cold, too hot.

Nightmares fill the shadows.

Cold, sweaty awakenings.

Every hour passes slower than the one before.

The rain, it leaves a soft tapping along the window pane. The sounds, nocturnal, active as my mind.

Eyes now opened, not seeing.

Sleep, eluding the soul, as does the moon upon this rain ridden night.

Another hour passes.

The ticks of the clock echo off of the walls.

Turning over.

Placing the pillow over my ears. Attempts to soundproof my mind, failing, miserably. Turning over, yet again.

Frustration kicks in.

Clock still ticking.

Rain is still tapping.

Walls still moving.

Mind empty, yet filled.

Thoughts vanishing.

Thought bouncing around in my head.

Swimming, circling.

Like sharks, eyeing their prey.

Awake.

Covering, uncovering.

Lengthy hours stretching patience, like a rubber band.

Pull too far...

Patience snaps.

Rips plug from wall, clock turns off. The ticking stopped.

Slamming window shut, closing curtains.

Retreating back to bed.

Lying flat.

Eyes shut, still not closed.

Silence, still too much.

Walls still moving.

Darkness, still too bright.

The rhythmic tick of the time, ceased

The soft tapping of rain drops, gone.

Annoyance, defeat.

Getting up, plugging the clock in, setting the time for the morning.

Opening the window, not too far.

The night creeps in.

Crawling into bed, slowly drifting into slumber…..

Then the alarm goes off.
