What is the best course of action to follow should you lose your train of thought during your speech? quietly glance at your notes to find your place. continue to speak, even though you are rambling. hope no one will notice and move on to talk about something completely unrelated. ask if anyone in the audience has questions. ask the audience to give you a second to regain your composure.
