In the Romantic Era or the early 19th century, the main theme was idealism of freedom. There was a need to create intense emotions. Most works addressed concerns of historical changes such as the French Revolution.In the Victorian Era or the late 1840s, many authors wrote novels of their natural thought plainly rather than dramatically.  They wrote about how their culture and status affected their lives such as the evident poverty of Dickens and Kingsley.In the Modern era or the 1900s to the present, authors write works about positive changes in Science and Technology. Many others kept the tradition of expressing themselves about universal concerns such as wars and security instability.
