In the 'Letter from Birmingham Jail', equality is painted as fair treatment and a state of peace among men. King stresses that the violence against Negros threatens the peace for all Americans.
These works are similar because they both criticize their world's government and how men treat each other. They are different because Vonnegut talks about skills while King discusses real world rights.
