the watch sits on my dresser. looking at it now, i see how its bright pink face is the same color as the nail polish gran always wore. i put it on my wrist, and it’s like she is next to me. gran gave it to me on my 16th birthday. she told me time flies, so i should stop and appreciate every moment. i wish i had one more moment with gran. the bright golden bands of the watch are just how she faced each day—with a bright smile on her face.
