some students have a more difficult time when they need to write a response, or explain their answer because not all students know what to include in the response. if you are answering a problem and it wants you to write a response, while  you're  solving the problem, first you restate the question.   then you write your thought process.   finally, you write your answer and explain how you got it from your thought process.
