William Tell and Philoxenus both brought about change in their time.

William Tell was an excellent marksman with his crossbow. he assassinated Albrecht Guesser. Williams open tyranny and opposition to aristocratic ruler ship, encouraged open rebellion by citizens against foreign leaders at the time. this open rebellion marked the confederation of modern Switzerland. William is considered a hero and an important symbol to the change and resistance against aristocratic rule.

Philoxenus was a very notable Syriac prose writer and one of his works was to revise the bible which was in Syriac versions. he worked against/opposed Flavan II a rival who was a patriarch of Antioch, on his works against his rival he was invited by the emperor and he was able to implement Severus ousting Flavan at a Sidon.
