The situation that the Fairy Tale Creatures find themselves in is purely caused by the prejudice of Lord Farquaad. Share the lyrics
of "What's Up, Duloc?" with your students (see resource section).
Ask them how they feel when they read about Farquaad's
prejudice. Ask them to write their own individual letter, as if the
were a citizen of Duloc, demanding that he change his policies
and that the Fairy Tale Creatures are returned to their rightful
homes. "They should use the most persuasive writing possible to
achieve this task. What do they think they could say to make
absolutely sure that Farquaad changes his mind?
