In the movie, "Akeelah and the Bee", the protagonist, Akeelah, is an excellent speller. She
has a coach, Dr. Larabee who has high expectations of her. He shows her a quote from W. E.B
DuBois, "Transformation", and asks her to read it. Akeelah does and has to recite (say) its
meaning.
