Garrett and Jeffrey took turns at the hoop practicing their free throws.
Usually Garrett sunk his free throw shots with no trouble, but something was off today.
He had not made a single shot. Jeffrey was on fire, though! He made every single free throw shot from the line. Coach McElroy noticed and came to talk to Garrett. “If you adjust your feet,”

On Friday afternoon, the doorbell rang. Ricky ran to the front door to see if his package arrived.
He was so excited that he threw open the door. He didn’t even think about his dog, Shadow.
Shadow darted out the door. He was down the street in a blink of the eye.
Luckily, the mailman noticed the dog as it sprinted past him.
The mailman chased after Shadow, grabbed his collar, and walked him back to Ricky.
Phew, that was close!

6.Abuelita's Gift
When Maria turned 10, her abuelita gave her a very special gold bracelet. It had been in the
family for many years. However, a week after her birthday, Maria lost the bracelet. She knew her
family would be disappointed in her. Since she didn’t know where to start looking, Maria decided
to hang up posters around town. Luckily, a neighbor found the bracelet and returned it to Maria.
She was so happy to have it back!

7.Math Test
On Monday, Maria’s teacher announced that there would be a math test later in the week.
Maria wasn’t worried. She was great at math! After school, she played video games instead of
studying. However, when the teacher handed out the test on Friday,
Maria realized that she didn’t know anything about geometry.
After school, she asked her teacher for some extra math worksheets.
