The additions to "Frankenstein" leave a lot to be desired. This is because they present the monster as a violent creature, without the ability to think, being completely monstrous and without reasoning. This is completely different from the book, as we know that the monster is a violent creature, but we can see that its intellectual and cognitive capacity is very high. The monster is a big intellectual, which reinforces the understanding that he has about him, about his appearance and about the world around him. This promotes a depth in the work that we are unable to see in its adaptations. In the book all the actions of the monster are done on the basis of reason and thought, in the adaptations the monster acts in complete irrationality.

We can also see many differences in relation to Victor's representations. In the book victor he is a very intelligent man, however disturbed by everything that creation has caused. Even with the pertrbation and sadness, Victor maintains his intellectual integrity, which makes the fight, between him and the monster, more significant. In the adaptations Victor is shown as a crazy man, a completely insane scientist, which takes away all the depth of the character.

The adaptations of the work have shallow themes and are limited to themes such as the creation revolt against the creator and the dangers of science. The book has many themes that are deep and well explored. The book shows the fascination and fear of humans in relation to science and technology, in addition to topics such as alienation, revenge, ambition, dangers of knowledge, abandonment, depression, life, death, among others.
