People tend to take their anger out on others because their emotions become too much for them to handle, or maybe they don't have a way to cope. They can find people to talk to or do something that could distract them.

When people take their anger out on others, it is called "displaced aggression". When people display this aggression, it is usually because they feel powerless, making them want to dump out their feelings on others. Often,    "displaced aggression" is directed toward those whom the individual knows will not fight back.

What a person can do to gain control over his/her anger:

. Calm down, and take a deep breath

. Get some exercise (Exercising releases endorphins, which are happy-making chemicals)

. Don't hold grudges

. Release tension caused by anger with humor
