Youâve probably heard of the term âflapper...â but did you know that flappers marked a time of independence for women? The role of women in the roaring twenties defined societyâs standards of what women are supposed to do. The women of the roaring twenties wore make-up and bobbed their hair to express themselves and make society understand that there cannot be any restrictions attached to her âexternalâ style. Flapper fashion was embraced by many, however, many critics despised what young women were doing during this time. We will venture through many aspects of flappers and how the flappers strengthened womenâs voice in society.
