In every nation, even before writing was known, people made up songs for special occasions, such as funerals and religious ceremonies. They also had songs to be sung at work, like the ones you can still hear when fishermen are drawing in the nets or crops are being harvested. The stories of famous or terrible happenings were also handed down from one generation to another in the form of songs. The songs our ancestors composed were all poetry. There are several reasons why the literature of every nation begins with poetry. For one thing, it is easy to remember. Then, like a song, it has pleasing or interesting sound and, like a dance it has strong rhythm. We dance and sing when we are excited. Poetry is specially suitable for putting excitement and strong feelings into words.
It is important to remember that we do not read poetry to obtain information. We read it in order to feel the same sort of pleasure as singing or dancing gives us. When singing or dancing we pay attention to the rhythm and the tune. In poetry, we will miss much of the pleasure if we do not pay attention to the rhythm tunefulness of the words. We enjoy it most if we read it aloud and not too fast.
The passage above is divided into three (3) paragraphs. Do a detailed outline of each of the paragraphs indicating the main divisions and sub-divisions under each of the paragraphs.
