It has been reported that the workers of Hetauda's Asian Paints Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal's Malowanpur district are on strike. Their cause for the sudden agitation seemed to be the unyielding response of the authorities to their demands. Their demands included an increase in their salaries, more allowances, and also booms. Moreover, they had also demanded more representation in the company's decision-making body but as they were denied representation, they had started the strike.

Despite the higher authorities' attempts to negotiate with the striking workers, they failed to come to a solution or even a possible middle ground. The leaders of the striking workers had asserted that unless their voices are listened to and taken seriously, they will cease all work and continue their strike. They also revealed that they will start their strike with a hunger strike from tomorrow.
