The three main things that Newton was known for are; inertia, force, and action and reaction.

Explanation: Back in the day, there wasn't proof of natural laws; therefore, every scientist that disagreed with a hypothesis, presented his own. Nowadays, after centuries of knowledge, we believe in the stated laws.
