During my whole childhood I had only one true friend name Fortunato. Everyone ended up starting to like him thus I became very jealous of his popularity. That was how my childhood went from being bullied to having an abusive father to being jealous of my friend. Years later I saw and meet up with Fortunato during the carnival season. I told him that he has acquired something that could pass for Amontillado, a light Spanish sherry. Fortunato is apprehensive about drinking the wine and to determine for Montresor whether or not it is truly Amontillado. Fortunato insist we go to my vaults. When we go down to the vaults it is covered in nitre minerals, which made Fortunato cough. In the deep vaults rest Montresor family with the motto “nemo me impune lacessit,” that is, “no one attacks me with impunity.” In English. Later in the journey Fortunato makes hand movements that is the sign of the Masons. Montresor does not recognize the hand movements, even though he says he is a Mason himself.
Montresor tells Fortunato that he can leave by taunting him. He begins to wall up the entrance to this small crypt, there for trapping Fortunato inside. Fortunato screams confusedly as Montresor continues to build the first layer of many. As Montresor builds the alcohol wears off Fortunato, which makes him terrified and helpless. As the layers start to pile Fortunato becomes silent, like he gave up on screaming for help or to do anything. Montresor fits the very last stone into place and plastering the walls closed. Then he placed the bones on the fourth wall. Finally, he writes, may he rest in peace.

This excerpt is from “the poet” by alfred, lord tennyson. the poem describes a poet's consciousness and perception. which three lines suggest the richness of a poet's thoughts? thus truth was multiplied on truth, [the world like one great garden show'd,] and thro' the wreaths of floating dark upcurl'd, rare sunrise flow'd. [and freedom rear'd in that august sunrise] her beautiful bold brow, when rites and forms before his burning eyes melted like snow. [there was no blood upon her maiden robes] sunn'd by those orient skies; but round about the circles of the globes of her keen eyes and in her raiment's hem was traced in flame wisdom, a name to shake [all evil dreams of power--a sacred name.] and when she spake, [her words did gather thunder as they ran,] and as the lightning to the thunder which follows it, riving the spirit of man, making earth wonder, so was their meaning to her words. no sword of wrath her right arm whirl'd, [ but one poor poet's scroll, and with 'his' word] she shook the world.
