getting good grades gives you some sort of benefit.

Like say you get an A in a class then at the end of each week or 2 you get to have a special treat like perhaps some candy or you get 1 assignment free. (the free card should probably only be at the end of the quarter though)

Getting rid of the letter grades might help a lot of peoples confidence, but of course schools might not care about that. So there is another reason. If we did get rid of letter grades, it would open more opportunities to maybe better answered grades, ones that may be more accurate, instead of on a scale.

An alternative may be numbers. 1-10. And if it is on the 1-4 you need to start fixing your grades. It may help with more understanding. I see there are no percents to show you your exact grade in the class, but its just a suggestion. It might make you feel good to be in the 5-10 range.
