Thus, some examples of these misrepresentations are, among others, the supposed lack of technological culture of these people (it is usually assumed that the natives continue to live in technologically backward environments); the supposed extreme union of people with the elements of nature (nowadays, these types of customs have been lost); and the alleged clumsiness in the use of the English language, which is a recurring stereotype in the media.
