At the core of this connectivity is communication. Communication means giving and receiving information. It takes many forms. In fact, people use multiple forms of communication every day. Think about it. We use our ears to hear, language to speak, and tone of voice to express mood. We also use facial expressions and body language to communicate nonverbally. We also use emails, text messages, blogs, journals, etc. to communicate in writing. Finally, we use signs, signals, and pictures to communicate visually. Communication is essential to life. As humans we use our communication skills to interact daily with our friends, loved ones, and colleagues. Communication also benefits our relationships. Words are used to connect with people, and they keep us connected personally to family and friends.
