Why is it important to keep promises that you make?

Fulfilling promises to yourself to do better or be better is just as important as following through on your promises to others.

It builds a reputation to say something and then keep your word for it- i do it personally for the sake of feeling good about doing so and being able to feel trusted by one can make others feel like i'm trustworthy as well. :) Knowing you can trust someone is one of the key stepping stones to any relationship.
