Summarize "To build a fire" by by jack london and how it's related to survival ?

To summarize this story up it is about a man who is on the journey home with his dog and is faced with the continus troubles of the cold. To keep the cold out he had special coverings but he fell through some ice and got wet so he tried to build a fire and he was doing fine until the fire was big and then the tree the fire was under decided to drop a ton of snow on top of it and he was too cold to build another fire so he ended up trying to find another way to get warm because he was going numb. He decided to try and kill the dog that was with him and go inside of its dead body to get warm. and he failed and he slowly died to the cold the only thing that made it back from the journey was the animal.
