Something that has changed about poems is authors diction. This has changed because the English language has developed more and more over the years, you can see this while reading authors writings who lived long ago, such as William Shakespeare. While reading his writings you can barely even understand what is being said because of how much the English language has changed. Another thing that has changed is topics. In older times different events were happening than todays events, even little things such as  phones changed how our lives are, and our lives today reflect in our writing. For example, Romeo didnt have a phone to call Juliet, he had to go outside, climb to her window and talk to her like that.
