The stereotype about doctors that emerged during the industrial and scientific revolution was that they would sacrifice anything for the pursuit of knowledge.

Many experiments were carried out during the Industrial Revolution, In fact, as there were many diseases, doctors seized them and learnt a lot as regard the functioning of our human body. For instance, one critical experimental finding disclosed that blood is "pumped" around the body by the heart.
