In a breathtaking race against time.
German anti-aircraft shells exploded in the sky.
What am i doing here?
Reminding myself.
I struggled to my feet,
Scared to die any second.
Everybody else forgets who i am,
Why cant he forget?
I’ve won….. But at what cost?

I fight to complete my high-stakes missions.
But with betrayals and deadly risks at every turn I take.
They don't seem to know what it really means to be scared.
I thought I would see us as heroes.
Watching us over power our enemies.
Instead all i saw was lakes of blood,
Dead bodies like rocks on the shore.

I wish i had never dreamed about this day,
Nor volunteered for this.
I wish this would be over,
Or ever came.
What was I even thinking?
Thinking that i could get revenge?

Hearing cries for help, bombing every day.
Holding a rifle all the time, being prepared day and night.
Seeing airplanes, parachutes, and Germans.
Seeing friends go away one by one.
Shall I see my family for once again?
Shall I live to survive this horrible time,
To see my wife and children?
Hoping for this war to finally end.
In a breathtaking race against time
